We worked with Susan and Stephanie at Miller Landscape Architecture for a complete redesign of our front and back gardens. They took the time to understand our needs and vision for both spaces and expertly guided us through the many options for hardscaping and softscaping. The backyard was particularly challenging with a fairly severe upslope covering the back half of the yard, but it didn’t seem to phase the MLA team. Conceptual drawings were produced quickly which allowed us to refine the overall setup before discussing specifics of design and construction. MLA helped us to identify an experienced and reasonably priced contractor (Rivera Landscape and Construction) who turned the detailed construction drawings produced by MLA into our vision for the space. The project which included excavation of the hillside, tree and deck removal, new retaining walls, dry stack feature walls, a new composite deck, pedestal pavers, a wall fountain, full outdoor kitchen, a terraced fire pit, irrigation, lighting, audio, and an impressive collection of plants, was completed over 4 months. MLA worked with us and the crew to address any issues and make any last minute adjustments to the plan. We started with an unusable barren hillside and now have the backyard oasis of our dreams that we’ll enjoy for years to come.
